Untitled!

Hey, uuuuuggggghhhhh.... MONDAYS....Don't ya just love MONDAYS? I just got Emily on the bus. We did have a nice weekend. Pat (MIL) visited us from Friday to this morning. She was suppose to stay until tomorrow but decided to leave today to spend some extra time with her Mother. (Great will be 95 in Dec) WOW!! Emily was very disappointed that she was not staying until Tuesday, and even though I understand why she left today, I felt really bad for Emily. She doesn't handle change toooo well. And she doesn't get to see her Grandma very often, since she lives in New Mexico. SO I understood but their was a tiny part of me that was a little pissed too. I couldn't help it! Anyway, Emily doesn't seem to be as pumped about school this year. I think she hates the LOOONNNGG days, plus she told me that their were 180 days of school. That does SOUND like a lot especially to a kid!! But anyway, I hope she finds that she likes it and has fun. I've made up this thing for her "THE 3 L's" I tell her for school. Listen, Learn and LOOK( people in the face when u talk to them) She has that problem she'll turn around, or look at her feet, or just plain walk away and because her voice is soo low, it's hard to hear her. SO we are really trying to work on that!! Brian said he's going to try and call the school today and ask about her aide. We REALLY want an explanation. All summer when we talked about school with Emily--- we would talk about having Mrs. G again so it's just disappointing that she doesn't. But whatever I'm gonna try and let it go, at least until I find out why. DEPRESSING NEWS....... Well the newest polls are SHOWING McCain winning. I can't believe their scheme is working! The McCain people didn't even know who Sarah Palin was but for a few months ago! AND she seems to have a LOT of skeletons in her closet, but since the election is only a few months away, they may get away with it! Which is just plain depressing! I thought it was said, that people don't vote based on a VP. I guess you can throw that out. UUUGGGGGGHHHHH! I did just re-read my blog and I sure seem negative but I'm really not a very negative person and actually I still really believe that Barack Obama will win, I just worry that people who are not ready for an African American president will find some way to vote for McCain. I know that their are people who really beleive in McCain and I say vote for him then, it's your right. I'm just really bothered that I think for a lot of people (bigots) they just will vote for McCain so that Barack doesn't win. It's really sad, and I wish I didn't feel this way, but I do. I DID NOT grow up in a household like that. WE never USED the N word, never even thought of using it. None of the relatives we were close to, used that word. Or said disparaging words about African Americans. I just had a grandma and Mother who DID not tolerate that. But growing up, I heard subtle and not so subtle racist remarks when I would visit friends houses or ex-boyfriends family reunions. IT made me feel uncomfortable but it didn't stop me from dating them or hanging with them. I didn't know any better and I was trying to fit in. I wish I knew then what I know now. But it also was an eye opener too. I think that for people like that it's almost impossible for them to vote for Barack and it sickens me. Vote for a person based on their qualifications and ideas, not because of their race! It goes both ways, I'm sure. It's just sad that it does. I'm not voting for Barack because he's black although I'm proud of the barrier it will break. I'm voting for him because for me, he's the right choice and because I truly think he'll bring about the bold changes we need! I wonder how many more people would vote for him if they could do so without the color of his skin being a factor. It's sad!

Emily B. 2nd Grader

Well Friday was Emily's first day of 2nd Grade. She seemed to like it! But for some reason she does NOT have the same one-on-one aide as last year, which is a little annoying to us. WHY? WHY? WHY? Would they do that? Mrs. G not only was great but she knew her and our concerns for her. It made us feel so much better knowing she was there for her. Now all of us have to get to know another aide and it's just frustrating. We are going to call the school on Monday hopefully to figure out WHY? The whole thing just was a distraction from what should have been an exciting time. BUT Emily seems fine, so that is what is most important but it's still annoying especially since they told us Mrs. G would be her aide again at our meeting. WHY would they tell us this... if it's just a lie.

A kinder gentler Political BLOG!

Okay, again we heard more lies last night during the convention but I was NOT angry like I was the night before. Becuase I thought that Cindy and John McCain were respectful and likeable! They highlighted what they felt was JOHN MCCAIN's STRENGTHS without belittling Barack! I can handle that. I understand that Democrats and Republicans have differences. I sure felt alot better about their speeches then Sarah Palin and Guiliani's from the night before. Sarah and Rudy were mean spirited and Belittling to Barack Obama and his supporters. And so.... While I DID NOT agree with John McCain on much, I did appreciate his approach. So now it's wait and see. Wait and See and hope and pray that those swing voters and once Hillary supporters will go for Barack still. Okay.. I'm done talking politics, I'm literally sick of hearing it! SO anyway, my baby girl is going to start 2nd grade tomorrow. I hope it goes great, I hope she is happy while there and that she likes her teacher. It's tough letting go, not being there to make sure she's okay, knowing you have to put your faith in others to protect her for those hours. It's hard, it's really hard for me to do! She's my girl!! The love of my world!

Them's fighting WORDS...

SO okay, I SHOULD NOT have watched any of the REPUBLICAN convention. I wanted to, because I was trying to be a well rounded voter. But I have got to tell you, it just made me really understand WHY it is I am voting for Barack Obama. IT ALSO MADE ME ANGRY!!!!! It appears that as far as being NASTY the republicans are KINGS. SO that is what I felt came out mostly of the speeches I listened to. Lets try and knock Barack OBama down, even if what was saying was totally LIES. You ask the "community" he helped if he did NOTHING. I bet they will tell you how change is possible and actually more probable when you get down on their level and HELP them. (you know, what wasn't done after Katrina by our current administration) SO that just angered me, and as far as substance--- pretty much all I heard was "WE WILL NOT RAISE TAXES" But I have to tell you that the truth is not raising taxes DOES NOT help the economy. Even giving tax credits does not help the economy. That is how they win, the put that carrot in front of peoples faces and think "well gee, everyone LIKES money so we'll win" but I have got to tell you. IT HASN'T worked for 8 years and it's not going to work for 4 more. WE HAVE GOT TO CHANGE the way we think. OBama has said he will only raise taxes on people making $250.000 and more. I'm sorry those people can afford to pay a slight bit more if it will help our economy get out of this republican mess. People (and I mean the republicans) are not looking at the BIG PICTURE. It's funny, because they say the same about us. But putting an extra even $5000.00 dollars in our pockets, tell me how is that going to change things. How will that change the programs that are corrupt, or just plain not working in our government. How will putting a relatively small amount of money in our pockets help lower our Country's DEBT that is a direct result of this republican administration? WE HAD A SURPLUS PEOPLE under the DEMOCRATS!!!!!!! DO you like borrowing from CHINA to pay off our DEBT? Yeah, that's solving problems. OKay, I get it--- Barack OBama should not have said that people "CLING" to their religion. He made a mistake, but who among us has always said the right thing EVERY MOMENT of your life. I understand he's in the public, it's not the same as you and I, but HE DIDN'T mean it and I believe him. SO STOP SAYING IT!!! You know what I saw of that convention, just plain attacks, attacks, attacks. If you are always saying something bad then you don't have to defend yourself. You don't have to play defense when you are on the offensive ALL THE TIME. IGNORANT----- Just plain IGNORANT. Barack Obama was so clear in his defense of Sarah Palin. In no uncertain terms it is not okay to go after family, and especially not kids. He is a stand up guy, and that matters. That is who I want for a president. Now, I feel for John McCain and Sarah Palin they have both been handed hardships in their lives but that DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY WILL MAKE a GOOD PRESIDENT AND VP because of them. Personally, if I hear about his 5 years in a POW camp one more time I think I'll go crazy. It was a very honorable/brave thing but it doesn't have anything to do with whether he will make sound judgments when it comes to presidency or take this country in the right directions after it's been driving fast and going in the wrong direction for 8 years. I have a great ad for Barack, just keep flashing Bush's approval rating over and over and over. We need a BOLD change and it isn't going to come from electing McCain (a person who voted with BUSH at least 90% of the time!!!!) It will be more of the same. I am so sure of it! And just so you don't think it's me ( a democrat). Here are some lies from Fact check.org....................

Joe Lieberman and his former Senate colleague Fred Thompson both made misleading claims about Obama in their prime time GOP convention speeches on Tuesday. We've heard two of them before – many times.

* Lieberman said Obama hadn't "reached across party lines" to accomplish "anything significant," though Obama has teamed with GOP Sens. Tom Coburn and Richard Lugar to pass laws enhancing government transparency and curtailing the proliferation of nuclear and conventional weapons.

* Thompson repeated misleading claims about Obama's tax program, saying it would bring "one of the largest tax increases in American history." But as increases go, Obama's package is hardly a history-maker. It would raise taxes for families with incomes above $250,000. Most people would see a cut.

* Lieberman also accused Obama of "voting to cut off funding for our American troops on the battlefield." But Obama's only vote against a war-funding bill came after Bush vetoed a version of the bill Obama had supported – and McCain urged the veto.

These are the LIES that were said on day 2, I can't wait until they have the LIES from last night on their website!!!!!

OH yes, I remember the other thing said last night... FEAR!!... What if the big bad "ISLAMIC" terrorist get us!! Well.... they did get us on GEORGE BUSH's WATCH. ON HIS WATCH!!! And then after wards he LIED to us, and went after the wrong guy and the "real" guys are still out there!!! SO keep bringing up 9/11!!!! It doesn't make your team look good!! READ THE 9/11 COMMISSION! READ it and you will find out how Bush was warned about it, warned like Clinton and Gore were never warned about an attack happening!! HE DID NOTHING!!! NOTHING! Went on vacation. I understand that George Bush isn't running for President again (THANK GOD) BUT I do think that McCain is somewhat an extension of his presidency.

Okay, now that I got that out of my system. I am going to go enjoy the last day of Summer Vacation with my daughter!! PEACE
