Country Music Fan?

Well I was thinking about DO I or DO I not like COuntry music and the truth is I really like some country artist but I could not listen to a country station all day long. I really like Deanna Carter's CD "Did I shave my legs for this" and I really like Reba McEntire a whole lot, Loretta Lynn and the Dixie Chicks. I like some Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Clint Black, and there are a handful of songs that I really really like. ALso, Country music is very special to me--- because my Mom LOVED country music. It was her thing... if you could only give three adjectives to describe my Mom-- one of them would be COuntry music LOVER. I grew up listening to country music and I really connected with some of those songs. BUT I would not say I'm a country music fan per say, just as I would not say I'm a Hard Rock fan but I do like a good Black Sabbath song ever now and then. I don't think you can fit me in a box when it comes to music. If you look at my profile, you'll see everything from Green Day to Jimmy Buffett to Reba McEntire. I'm just a fan of "my" music!!

Graduation and Baby LOVE!!

SO last night I went to Justin's graduation. I hadn't seen them in a little while so it was nice to hang out w. my sister, nephew and neice and her baby. OH my god, he's so beautiful and the HAPPIEST baby. Such an easy laugh this baby has. SO beautiful. I can't wait to see him again. OH I'm in love w. this little guy!! Adorable. Anyway, Danielle asked us if we wanted to go to the beach but it's 2 and we haven't left yet, which is fine as long as we don't seem rushed. Because I hate that. It makes me feel stressed and it's annoying. You know... if you're going to go to the beach--- it should be relaxing. Anyway, it should be nice. Both of us are thinking when we get there is when we get there. SO I hope it's fun. Emily is really looking forward to it!! SHe so enjoyed it last time!! Anyway, I guess I should go... just wanted to write a quick blog! PEACE!!

Lions, Tigers and Bears OH MY...

WE went to the ZOO today. Bet you could guess that from the title. We had a nice time. EMily LOVED the penguins. We went with Danielle & the kids, her family has a membership so it was great becuase we didn't have to pay to get in or for parking. WOW.. I always forget what a great zoo the Philadelphia Zoo is. I loved the polar bear, and the lions. We were lucky because there was a sign that said that Lions sleep 21 hours a day but they were awake and yawning when we saw them. Emily said the lions and tigers were her 2nd favorite after the penguins. We only stayed about 3 hours but that was plenty and all the kids were really good. I might go to my nephew JUstin's jr high graduation tonight. But I'm not sure, because Brian will not get home until late and I'm not sure if I can. Anyway, We are thinking about getting a new central air unit becuase the one we have is on the verge of breaking and it's a killer on our electric bill. It's crazy how high our electric bill is in the summer. I tell people and they don't believe me. After getting our A/C fixed for the Umpteenth time last year the repair guy said that the coil is pretty f/upd and that if we have it too low it will freeze up. SO we are hoping to get an energy star one and the savings will help to pay for it in not too long. But I hate spending big time money like that. I think growing up pretty poor, I'm not use to spending money and it's really stressful doing it. BUt oh well, in the long run... ....... right? Oh well I guess I'll go--- I have to check to see about my nephew's graduation. BYE

WhatEVER!!

Hi ALL, I named this blog whatever becuase Whatever I think about I'll write about. Lets see....... Emily will be getting off the bus soon. SO I'll have only about 15 minutes to be able to write. She has 1/2 days the rest of school. She gets out on the 16th. I can't WAIT!!! I love having her at home. Danielle and I are planning lots of FUN things to do with them. LIke the zoo, and beach!! Should be a FUN summer. Emily is really looking forward to it!! I just got home from the Christmas Tree Shop... I LOVE THAT PLACE. You can always find cool things there. LOVE IT!! Went with Danielle-- ofcourse, she loves it as much as me!! We have alot of fun, and get equally excited about the smallest "good" find. She's a really cool person just in general, we don't "ALWAYS" agree with one another but we always respect each others opinion. That's really important in a friend. Anyway, we then went to Panara Bread-- OMG, you have got to try their Cinnamon crunch bagels.... they are so GOOD!! THey had them as samples and ofcourse I ended up buying 4 of them to take home!! Emily will LOVE her after school snack today!! :) Oh just anyway, I umm watched this movie last week, Our very own. IT's from like 2005 and it stars Jason Ritter and Allison Janney. It's a coming of age tale set in the 70's in some small town. It was a really good movie. I just came across it while I was channel surfing and I had never heard of it. It may just be the newest "Missy Movie"!! Whenever I find a movie I really "connect" with... we call it a "Missy Movie". One of my favorite movies of all time is Splendor in the Grass!!! LOVE it!! Brian was very sweet the other day and surprised me by buying both of them for me. Anyway, got to go and get Emily off the bus. BYE

Another Emily Gem

The other night, I'm putting Emily to bed and she says,

"Guess What?........................(and then farts)

I need Gas-X"

I laughed so much. Why do you think we call her our little stinker pants?

HIP HIP HILLARY!!!

I'm PROUD of Hillary Clinton. I was soOOO worried for a while now that she would drag this out. That she would divide the party and she kept her promise not to. Her speech was inspiring and gracious and I felt so proud listening to her. I hope all her supporters understand the importance of seeing the BIG picture. That okay, she didn't win but that we still have a terrific candidate in Barack Obama. That "WE" must vote for change. I feel really good about it.... You know had she been this positive during the campaign like she was today, I may have felt more for her. I was talking to Brian the other night, and I said you know it's been really hard for me as a women, and Mom of a daughter, not to want to completely throw my support around Hillary becuase I want Emily to know " See, I can be anything I want." BUT for me, I didn't feel a connection with Hillary. I think it was becuase in the beginning she was so confident that she would win that she didn't really express how much this election and win would mean to her. I think had she, I may have felt more for her. I mean I think that Barack Obama is still the right choice but for me it's got a lot to do with feelings. I felt like he will do the best job because it means so much for him to be the "president". I know that Hillary is a wonderful candidate but I've been feeling, a while now, that she just wanted to win---- no matter what. NO MATTER who's toes she stepped on, or what she said about Barack, Or How she got the nomination. I think it turned people off---- I know it turned me off early on. I REally respect her but I didn't FEEL the same inspiration from her that I do from Barack Obama. TODAY, I DID, I felt like she got "IT"---- that as heartbreaking as it was to lose that she understood how important it was to see the big picture. I loved the part of her speech where she talked about the historic notion of this election.... the breakthrough of it--- for both women and african americans. That it will be "unremarkable" for a women to win major primaries or for a black man to win the nomination. and that was what made it "remarkable"---- that is how I've been feeling. That we have made such breakthroughs in this election and truly just how amazing that is.... for the first time I felt like she got "IT". I'm sure she had before but it was the first time I felt it from her. THat made me feel so much for her--- I'm happy she'll Campaign "hard" for Barack Obama.... becuase what really matters is that we get a democrat in the office. It matters because unemployment is at a 20 year high, it matters because of universal healthcare, it matters for our troops, it matters, it matters, it really matters!!!

SO MUCH To TALK ABOUT....

Well, WOW.... SO much I want to write about. Well let's start off with OH MY GOD... BARACK OBAMA won the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America... HOW AWESOME!!Today, I woke up feeling very PROUD to be an American. That "ANYONE" that is qualified can be president!! ATLAST!!! I was so proud listening to Barack OBama during his speech last night. He is the real deal---- I truly beleive the best to lead our country. I was inspired by him again, He was gracious, and presidential!!!

Anyway, on personal notes.. ALot has been going on here at home. Brian and Fernando just got back from a trip to Denver CO. THey visited our friend Bryan and did some hiking while there-- they had a really nice time. SO for 5 days-- it was just me and Em. We had a few of our own adventures. We went to Ocean City, NJ on SUnday. IT Was such a nice day. Beautiful weather, and we had a lot of fun playing in the water--- which was freezing but after your legs became numb, you really don't notice it anymore.. LOL! We went with my aunt and Cuz and it was really a nice day. Emily was such a joy to watch in the water.... thoroughly enjoying herself!!! IT was a fun day!!

On MONDAY-- we got a really cool thing in the mail. Vagiant the group that we had emailed about Emily singing there song. (see May 22nd Blog) They sent us a package in the mail. It had a stuffed animal, and tee for Emily and a CD for us. They also sent a really cool card with a note, They called us "the ROckinest Family EVAH!!" I LOVE THAT!!! IT was just so nice of them. Emily was so EXCITED about receiving it!! It was really cool of them. SO they have fans for life now---- Really they ROCK! AND their CD is AWESOME.... SO buy their CD!!!

And eventhough there is ALOT more to write about, I'm just not in the mood. SO I guess I'll stop here for now. PEACE!!!
